National Day of Reading
To commemorate the 250th Anniversary of this historic event, the Declaration will be publicly read on Wednesday, July 8th in Philadelphia at 6pm est. Cities and Towns across the natin will join the public reading of the Declaration. To participate the Arthur Village Board of Trustees is hosting: The Reading of the Declaration of Independence Wednesday, July 8th 2026 at the Arthur Welcome Center at 5pm cst. Light refreshments of apple pan dowdy and peach & lavendar ice cream, traditional desserts of the 18th century, will be served.
