1.Where do I go to have my utilities turned on?

Please make a visit to the village offices located at 120 E. Progress Street. The nice people there can assist you with getting the proper contact information for each utility. You may also call them at 217-543-2927.

2.How do I find the post office and what are their hours of operation?

The United States Post Office is located at 315 South Vine Street in Arthur. Their lobby is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday) and 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The USPS currently offers home delivery six days per week.

3.Does Arthur have a daily newspaper and how can I sign up for a subscription?

The Arthur Graphic-Clarion is a weekly paper that is available each Wednesday afternoon. You may also receive it, via mail, each Thursday of the week or simply stop by their offices and purchase a copy. The Arthur Graphic-Clarion is located at 113 E. Illinois Street or give them a call at 217-543-2241.

4.How do I find information about local church services?

Each week, in the “Graphic” all local church services are listed. Similar information is located on the west outside wall of the Arthur Amish Country Welcome Center located at 106 E. Progress Street in Arthur. You may also stop in at any of the many churches located in the Arthur Area.

5.How may I find available housing for rent and/or for sale?

This information is usually available in the Arthur Graphic Clarion each week. You may also stop by the Arthur Amish Country Welcome Center at 106 E. Progress Street to check their listing of available properties. Our website at www.arthurillinois.us is also a good source for this information.

6.Does Arthur have a public library?

Yes, the Arthur Public Library is located at 225 S. Walnut Street and you can call them at 217-543-2037.
